the voices between us
Some stories end in silence. Others continue in the conversations we have with ourselves for years afterward. the voices between us gives those conversations a place to finally be heard.
What if the words we never found were never really lost... only waiting until we were ready to speak them?

Some conversations change our lives.
Others simply change us because they never happened.
the voices between us will be the third chapter of the between series, exploring the words we couldn’t find when they mattered most. These songs inhabit the space between thought and speech — the apologies left unsaid, the questions never asked, the truths hidden behind fear, and the quiet hope that even imagined conversations can help us understand ourselves more deeply.
Unlike the chapters before it, the voices between us won’t revisit the past to write it. Instead, it will give shape to the conversations that continued long after the moment had passed, reminding us that some of life’s most meaningful dialogue happens long after the room has fallen silent.
The first two songs from this chapter, what if i had found the words and the hallway still exists, are available now as pre-release singles, offering an early glimps into a collection that is still unfolding. As new songs are completed, they will continue revealing another perspective within the ever-growing between series.

The opening chapter of the voices between us begins with a question that has quietly echoed through every relationship: what if I had found the words? It explores the invisible conversations we have with ourselves — the apologies we never spoke, the fears we couldn’t name, and the alternate futures that exist only in hindsight. Rather than searching for certainty, the song reflects on the profound truth that every voice begins with someone believing it is finally safe to speak.
-
another version of me explores the hidden conversations so many of us carry inside ourselves — the racing thoughts, the emotions left unspoken, and the exhausting effort of convincing the world we’re okay. It’s a quiet reflection on the difference between the person everyone sees and the one we keep hidden, wondering if it will ever feel safe to let them be the same. At its heart, it’s a reminder that being heard is not the same thing as being a burden, and that healing often begins with finding the courage to speak.
-
What if someone asked how you were doing, and you answered honestly?
honest answer explores the quiet distance between what we feel and what we’re willing to say. It gives voice to the conversations we rehearse, the truths we soften, and the exhaustion of carrying an inner world that rarely makes it into words. Sometimes the hardest thing to say isn’t the perfect thing… it’s simply the honest answer.

Some people aren’t overwhelmed because they can’t handle life — they’re overwhelmed because they always do. because i always do gives voice to the invisible cost of being the dependable one, exploring the quiet burnout that comes from carrying everyone else’s expectations while convincing yourself you’ll survive one more time. It’s a song for anyone who’s ever heard, “You’ll figure it out,” and quietly respond, “I know.”

Some places become more than locations — they become witnesses. the hallway still exists explores the quiet intersections between memory and place, where ordinary spaces become permanently shaped by extraordinary moments. Whether marked by joy, loss, hope, or heartbreak, these places continue to exist within us long after we’ve walked away. The walls may change, the doors may close, and time may move on… but somewhere inside us, the hallway still exists.

A haunting exploration of what happens when trauma becomes so intertwined with survival that you can no longer tell where one ends and you begin. the boy in the photograph looks backward at the person who seemed to disappear, searching through memory for the moment he was lost. What begins as an investigation into everything trauma took becomes something unexpected: the realization that perhaps he was never gone… he was waiting to be found.
-
A companion to the boy in the photograph, i already know is what happens when searching the past finally gives way to recognition. Some answers were never hidden in memory — they were waiting beneath everything learned in order to survive. It’s the moment the questions begin to quiet, not because every wound has healed, but because you finally trust what you already know.

I thought I was writing songs to explain my life.
Instead, they became the path back to the person who had been writing them all along.
This is the quiet realization that survival and identity aren’t the same thing. That somewhere beneath the roles we play, the expectations we carry, and the versions of ourselves the world comes to know, there remains a voice that never stopped singing.
More than any song I’ve written, this one feels like a homecoming.
Not because it finally answers every question…
But because it no longer needs to.
